- Online Submissions Only
Some people still ask
if they can submit by email, etc. You must use
our online submission process. If you have problems, email Justin
and we will help you get your submission in.
- Limit - 4 Submissions Per Person
In previous quarters
we haven't bothered to limit the number of submissions per person,
but in some cases people have submitted a huge number of poems and
stories (greater than 20 in a couple cases). It is a lot of work
for us to read all the submissions, so the most we will accept
is 4 submissions per person per quarter. If you have more than that,
send your four best.
- Limit - 2400 words
We will not accept any submissions
which are longer than 2400 words. Our journal doesn't currently
have the funding to accomodate longer works.
- Only one poem or story per submission
In the past
people have submitted more than one poem or story within one submission.
In light of our new limit, we will only read one poem or story
per submission. If you still include more than one at the same
time, we will only consider the first. If you are submitting
four poems, for example, you must submit four seperate times.
- Do not include your name in the submission text
We can look up your name later on after we have selected the
submissions. The editors are not supposed to see names while
reading submissions, so please don't include your name. If you
are registered and logged in, we already have it.
- Undergraduates only!
New Forum is a creative
writing journal specifically for undergraduates. If you are a
graduate student and you want to see your story or poem printed,
this, unfortunately, is not the place. There are many journals
who will accept the work fo graduate students. Faultline is one.
Check them out in our links section.
